The Rod Eyles Squash Academy has been established on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia to assist in the growth and development of both junior and senior players.

The Academy offers a variety of personalized programs to accommodate each individual. This comprises of private coaching, team coaching, and camps all personally with Former World Champion, Rod Eyles.

The Mission of the Rod Eyles Squash Academy is “to create opportunities for everyone to maximize their potential and achieve their personal goals”.

Career Highlights:
Rodney Eyles joined the professional squash tour as a 16 year-old in May 1984, and retired in November 2000 at the age of 33.

In 1996 he also reached the finals of the World Open, British Open, the Tournament of Champions, the Qatar Open and the Pakistan Open.

As a junior player, Eyles was runner-up to Jansher Khan in the final of the 1986 World Junior Squash Championship. Between 1980 and 1986, he won four Australian junior titles and three Queensland junior titles.

Eyles was a member of the Australian teams which won the World Team Squash Championships held in Helsinki, Finland in 1991 and the World Junior Team Championships in 1986. He also won a silver medal for Australia in the men's doubles event at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur.

Rod was a 5 times representative player in the Australian Men’s Team World Championships 1991, 1993, 1995 and 1999. He was in the winning Australian Team in 1998 of the World Cup. Eyles captained the Australian Team from 1994-97.

Rodney Eyles reached the pinnacle of his career in 1997 when he comprehensively defeated England’s Peter Nicol in straight games in Kuala Lumpur to take out his only World Open title. It was a sweet victory for Eyles who went down fighting in the previous year’s World Open final to the great Pakistani, Jansher Khan, in four games.

Eyles held the prestigious position of PSA President and Board Member for 5 years.
Rod is a Level 2 Accreditated Coach and has consulted to the Hong Kong Institute of Squash. He has coaching experience in Australia, the United States of America and Europe. Rod Eyles has developed his individual coaching style from learning from the most experienced coaches around the world ie Geoff Hunt, Ken Hiscoe, Heather McKay and Jonah Barrington.

In June 2005 Eyles was inducted into the Queensland Squash Hall of Fame and in March 2008 was inducted into the Australian Squash Hall of Fame.
 

Today, Eyles lives on the Gold Coast, Australia with his wife and two children.
